This book didn’t motivate me to listen after the first few chapters, so while I have made it through to the end, I can’t say it was a gripping or even a particularly enjoyable listen and I have no desire for a second run through. Usually, I’ll listen to each book at least 3 times over the first couple of months as there is always more to absorb.

I’ve enjoyed most of the series so far apart from the Flame branch which started slow and seemed to drag on while I waited for more of Jason. It was difficult to listen to the entire story, wanting to give up within a few hours of listening but hoping somehow it could redeem itself and continue my interest in the world of Awaken Online. Disjointed, lacking a clear and cohesive narrative, and worst of all, boring. As to Armageddon there is nothing good I can say about this book, utter disappointment from start to finish. Those are my heartfelt and honest sentiments.

Second I would like to acknowledge the excellent performance of David Stifel that I have come to rely on having listened to each previous book in this series at least twice and loved them all, among my favorite series, and third let me congratulate Travis Bagwell on his previous, masterful works, building an intricate and imaginative narrative along with full and interesting characters and wonderful food for thought regarding imergeing technologies. I will say my favorite part of the whole series is the on going argument over the stance on in game NPC characters on if they are "real" or not and how they should be treated.įirst let me say that this is my opinion, and I fully understand that. Not sure if I will pick up book 10 when it comes out I think this story might be done for me. The pacing of the book is pretty poor with a single "Did we become best friends?" moment strait out of step brothers the real villain in the climax just doesn't make sense at all and feels like the worst case of Deus Ex Machina since Jasons power creep reset how ever many books ago.

the author continually uses Money as the main driving force for several of the different characters and the actions taken lead directly to a loss of all revenue. our character motivation just doesn't make sense anymore. The gods banter could have all been removed without losing anything. But this one has been the absolute worst. I am a big fan of the series despite the author throwing more and more mystery with very little pay off each book.
